News, then and now

As part of the colloquy I'm taking, Public discourse in the Age of Technology I was sentenced to listening to a local news report and a half hour of national news. Gawd!!! It was awful. Maybe there was no news that day, which is why they spent so much time on irrelevancies.To keep from killing myself I logged what went on, roughly minute by minute for 15 minutes of local news, and 30 minutes of national. My log's at the end. Looking over the log it did not seem as horrible as it seemed watching it live.Was it always this horrible? No. Here's are two online videos of news, as it was in the day.
